Biography

Born and raised in New York City, Ric began playing for dances, restaurants, and other social events at age 13. Throughout his teens and twenties, while living in the tri-state area, he performed with some of the area’s popular R&B and Top 40 cover bands; all comprised of some of today's recognized artists and musicians.
 
While attending college, he became involved in New York’s Salsa and Merengue music scene which led to performances throughout the US, Caribbean and Latin America. He later graduated from City University of New York's Local 802 program with degrees in music. A diverse performance background combined with formal music education has enabled him to perform with acts ranging from Rock, Soul, and R&B, to Latin, Jazz, and Pop.
 
Instrument repair courses with the 319th Army Band and subsequent apprenticeships, laid the groundwork for a 25 year ongoing career working with teachers, students, and pros, and includes being a veteran technician with Sam Ash Music and Gigliotti Woodwinds in Tampa Bay Florida.
 
Over the years other associations, affiliations, and stints include those with Eric Darius, BK Jackson, John Purcell, David Sanborn, The Cadillacs, The Del Vikings, Millie Puente, Alex Bueno, A&C La Banda, Fausto Rey and Jose Alberto to name a few. In 1990 he moved to Clearwater Florida where for the past 20+ years he has served the Tampa Bay community as technician, performer, teacher and life long music and art advocate. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends in Clearwater Florida and Greater Tampa Bay.
